Northern lights: Artists from Lower Saxony presenting their artwork

The 84th fall exhibition of Lower Saxony artists "Northern Lights" is presenting 36 extraordinary artistic positions of Lower Saxony and Bremen. The exhibition is being held in the Kunstverein Hannover, Nord/LB art gallery in the Kunsthalle Faust. The artwork was elected by a expert jury from 390 applications.

In the exclusive exhibition of contemporary art in Lower Saxony and Bremen important atrtists of the northern artscene like, Timm Ulrichs, Chriatiane Möbus, Hans Karl and Rolf Bier will be presented next to still, unknown talents.

16 artists are presenting for the first time, acting within the fall exhibition. The reason for the quality and vitality in this artscenen is probably because, three quarter of the artists are under 35 years old. Painting, fotography and drawings are represented as well as the installations, video work and perfomances. The duration of the fall exhibition, that takes place twice a year, has been mislaid to the summer. The reason for that is that this joint project is taking place in ten institutions of Hannover.

The NORD/LB art gallery is going to show the paintings from Thomas Dillmann and the fotographies of Petra Kaltenmorgen "The common into the strange". In the Kunsthalle Faust, amongs others, Christian Haake is asking questions about the truth to scale, reality, cognition and picture, while Christine Schulz'es installation broaches the issue of "cornerstone of mobility" like tourism, traffic and migration.

The artcenter Hannover shows next to the international renomated young artists Ralf Ziervogel and Kalin Lindena, and others, a outstanding installation of Timm Ulrichs. It is clever and playful at the same time and give an insight to the conditions of our perception.

The awarded artists and schoolarship holders from the "Price of the Kunstvereins Hannover", that are getting a two year schoolarship in the "Villa minimo" (Company Gundlach) and a final exhibition in the artcenter. Also the laureate of the "Kunstpreis der Sparkasse Hannover" will be awarded. The laureates will be exhibited in the artcenter of Hannover.
